     Chongqing Research Institute of HIT is a new comprehensive research and development institution jointly built by Liangjiang New Area Management Committee and Harbin Institute of Technology on July 17, 2020. It is the first comprehensive local research institute of HIT. The research institute is located by the Mingyue Lake in Liangjiang New Area, Chongqing, with a planned construction area of 150,000 square meters. It is a bridgehead and vanguard for the school to base itself on Chongqing and radiate the scientific and technological innovation support of the southwest region, and an important tie for the school to connect its advantageous resources to the southwest region. The Institute attaches equal importance to scientific research and industrialization, focuses on the industrial development needs of Chongqing and Liangjiang New Area, coordinates the science and technology innovation resources of HIT One University and three districts, focuses on the frontier direction of engineering science and related interdisciplinary disciplines, and lays out and builds multiple platforms such as innovation research Institute, talent training base, industrial incubation base, achievement transfer and transformation center, and international cooperation center.
