    Changsha Mining Research Institute Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as Changsha Mining Institute) is located at the foot of the beautiful Yuelu Mountain and on the banks of the Xiang River, covering an area of 170000 square meters. Changkuangyuan was established in 1956 in accordance with China's first twelve year plan for scientific and technological development, and is under the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Metallurgical Industry. In April 1983, it was placed under the management of the former China Nonferrous Metals Industry Corporation. In 1999, as one of the first research institutes to be transformed, Changkuang Institute was transformed into a technology-based enterprise. In July 2000, it was transferred to Hunan Province for management. In September 2004, entered Hunan Nonferrous Metals Holding Group Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as Hunan Nonferrous). In 2010, Changsha Mining Institute joined China Minmetals Corporation Limited (hereinafter referred to as China Minmetals). On October 31, 2011, according to the overall deployment of China Minmetals, it was renamed Changsha Mining Research Institute Co., Ltd. In 2018, according to the overall deployment of China Minmetals, Changkuang Institute was placed under the management of China Nonferrous Engineering Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of China Metallurgical Science and Industry Group, and became an important backbone subsidiary of China Minmetals.
