Labcompanion, a leading manufacturer of test chambers, recently organized a comprehensive fire drill on its premises, using nearly expired fire extinguishers. The drill aimed to enhance employees' understanding of fire safety procedures while also ensuring the proper utilization of equipment.
The exercise began with a demonstration on how to effectively use a fire extinguisher to put out a controlled fire. Employees were shown the correct technique for operating the extinguisher, including the proper stance, aiming, and squeezing of the trigger. By using the expired fire extinguishers, we not only be provided a hands-on learning experience but also found an environmentally friendly way to dispose of the equipment.
In addition to the fire extinguisher demonstration, the drill also included a practical display of using a fire hydrant and connecting a water hose. This segment focused on the importance of having a reliable water source in case of a large-scale fire. Employees were educated on the steps involved in quickly setting up the fire hydrant system and using it to suppress flames.
The fire drill was well-received by the employees, who actively participated and learned valuable skills that could potentially save lives in the event of a real fire. Labcompanion always prioritizes safety in production. Through this drill, the company not only tested the reliability of its existing fire safety facilities but also further enhanced employees' fire safety awareness and emergency response capabilities. And some issues were identified, such as insufficient water pressure from the fire hydrants, which failed to meet fire suppression standards.
By conducting this fire drill, Labcompanion demonstrated its commitment to safety and its proactive approach to fire prevention. Our company plans to continue organizing such drills on a regular basis to keep employees prepared and informed about fire safety measures.
