Chengdu Technological University was founded in 1913 and was the first industrial school established in Sichuan after the Xinhai Revolution. It has a history of 111 years of education to date. Marshal Chen Yi studied dyeing and weaving at the school from 1916 to 1918. In the course of more than a hundred years of continuous education, the school has always taken it as its responsibility to serve the urgent needs of the country, adhered to the educational sentiment of revitalizing the country through industry, and formed the school motto of "combining hands and brains, integrating learning and practice", the school spirit of "rigor, simplicity, diligence, and innovation", and the tradition of focusing on work, highlighting application, and serving local and industry education. The school has successively been under the jurisdiction of the former Second Ministry of Machinery Industry, Fourth Ministry of Machinery Industry, Ministry of Electronic Industry, and the former Department of Electronic Industry in Sichuan Province. It has long been oriented towards industry education and has mainly gone through two stages of education: the "National Key Vocational School" Chengdu Radio Machinery School and the "National Demonstration Vocational School" Chengdu Electronic Machinery Higher Vocational Science School. In 2000, the school was transferred from the Department of Electronic Industry of Sichuan Province to the Provincial Department of Education. In 2012, it was upgraded to an undergraduate institution and is the only pilot university in the province to promote the integration of industry and education in undergraduate programs through the joint construction of departments and schools by the Sichuan Provincial Department of Education and the Sichuan Provincial Department of Economy and Information Technology.
